This has a smaller v tail but has stabs forward to make up the different in sq in. It will have 13 servos total and have a 6 foot wing. It will have three drop servos, 2 servos for pan and tilt, two servos for aileron, two servos for flaps, 2 servos for the v tail, 1 servo for the steering, one servo for the canard, in addition there will be a low battery alarm, and a very loud siren that can be activated for an audible tone so that a plane can be located in heavy brush. And two models in swimming suits

and 6 servos to remove the swimming suits

Awesome. I always wondered what the most complicated mix for a plane would look like! Inverted V-Tail with Canard has got to be up there!

Can it make be bacon and eggs in the morning?

Is that to scale? Gosh its HUGE!

here are a couple of photos of the project. I know this is not the convention method of building these planes but I wanted a large plane that I could use for multiple projects. The three drops will be for dropping items from pods on the wing. This was in response to a question from the red cross and I also wanted to carry another plane on the belly.

That's what she said.

Sorry...I couldn't help myself...this thread just has been going down that path. :D

Here are a few more photos of the insane plane. 10 of the 13 servos have been installed. one of the photos show three servos, one is the boom servo, one is a flap servo, the third is a servo that will drop items; rocket planes or will serve as an attachment point for floats. I have included a photo of the attachment points of the v tail. As you can tell there is a pin that can be pulled so that the booms can be separated.

Why nitro?

.25 engine +12oz tank (an addition tank can be added next to fire wall for 2 + hours of flight time) = mega flight time and killa power on takeoff . This plane is a work horse with a capacity to carry 6 more lbs or more. I have plans to carry all kinds of stuff to remote location for medical or emergency reasons. The design of this plane was the result of a discussion I had with the Red Cross workers during the flood on the Mississippi. The wing should have good lift (NACA 2415) and wind penetration for multiple wind conditions. I choose the D box construction method for the strength load carrying capacity of its design. I have pods that will be mounted below the booms to distribute the wt being carried. These pods can be dropped. The plane has a sound component to it as well because hearing the plane coming is important for delivering equipment or items to an individual. I installed a 109 db siren to the belly so the plane can be identified before a drop. My next plane will be a simple light wt battery powered plane like I see most people building. I guess with this plane I did not feel that all my needs could be meet with electric.

Ok, that makes sense!

Great job in taking this hobby further by helping people in need!!

Did you consider to mount an ignition system on the glow engine for reliability?
With a sparkplug you can expect 15 % more fuel efficiency too.

Glowplugs aren't that great.

Good point do you have a suggested web site to review this idea.

Test fight went great! The plane handled like a big glider with power to climb. We had an 8 mile an hour wind and it took it very well. The plane takes off in a short distance and has a great rate of climb at 45 degrees. The Siren is easy to hear at 400 feet. The flaps slow the plane down very well. I landed without flaps and found that the plane wanted to keep flying on and like a glider. I thought the extra wt would cause it to come down faster but I was wrong. The next test flight will be with the video gear on.

Second flight was exciting and successful with help from the family. Video equipment operated ok with RC gear. I flew for about 10 minutes and landed with flaps. The flaps functioned wonderfully and provided a slower landing speed and a descent rate controlled accurately with throttle. This allowed me to make very precise landings.
Next test will be to make sure the Gps and the 70 centemeter radio does not interfer with the other gear.
