I know this might not be the right forum, but I've been wanting to know who flies up here in Crest CA. I'm wanting to get into gliders, because the hills here are perfect for sloping around.

Thanks.

Xpress,

Are you talking about the Crest that it just east of El Cajon? If so I was looking at that area for flying for years when I lived in Ramona but could never find anyone that could give me any info on it. It looks like it could be a killer slope and rival Torrey Pines for lift when the conditions are right. Lots of rocks though so if you can get permission to fly it be careful.

^Yes, that Crest, the one with the Microwave antennas ontop. Also, I don't see it being a problem flying a glider there. Afterall, it is the most silent type of flying.. (unless you are a DS-er.. :D).

There are a couple places in walking distance, but are ontop of big hills, and there is no vehicle access- just a walking path :)

There is one accessible hillside that takes a bit of hiking up to get to, but I can feel the wind comming up it when I'm up there. Should be a good place for many gliders :)
