People, days ago I`ve posted in the Radios seccion:

I still think that one of these 30 or 35 oz.in servo will be correct for my sailplane, just want to know what you think.
I hope some experience based opinions.
Thanks a lot.

I use HS65's in my 100" Bantam. No problems at all in 2 years. If you have room for a little bigger servos, HS85MGs work well in my 128" Hawk and 130" Yardbird. I regularly scream these carbon-sparred wonders down from way up and ping the heck out of them on launch... no problems. I am not sure what the torque specs are for either of these servos, but they work well.

In my experience, 30 oz.in can move any sailplane surface in any direction, any time. These should do the job very well, I would think, for most any airplane up to 3 meters. Others may disagree.
I have not seen any emperical data or analysis of hinge moments and servo torque. Maybe someone out there can define the required torque.
But again: I have been flying very happily on servos much like the ones you describe. And quite a few much smaller. I have a new 2-meter ship that uses Dymond D-60s to drive the flaperons. I have two JR servos (survivors of an industrial application) driving the rudder and elevator, but both would be classed as "micro".
I am contemplating a rudder/elevator 2-meter glider as my next build project, and plan on using two more D-60s.

THANKS guys!
That was what I guessed... I`ll try the JR 375`s
They are the best torque/weight ratio I`ve seen.
Emilio.
PS: Take a look at the sailplanes I`m thinking of, in the link:

This is the class "estandar" in Argentina, which is intended for 3 cannel sailplanes from 2 to 2,6 mts. wingspan.

egianello, thanks for the link. Enjoyed checking out all the planes and folks flying. Would love to come to Argentina some day. You guys have a great place to fly.

I'm using an HS-65HB on my Bird of Time stab. , and an HS-82MG on the rudder. More than enough. I would think 30 is fine.

Great pictures! Great flying site!
I got to go to Peru a few years ago, and I loved it. We flew over the Nazca Lines, and my pilot was one of the most skilled I have ever flown with.
I have got to get down there some day.
Yours, Greg
