Weird Weather Weekend.

This weekend was just too Alabama. All this stuff happened within 50 miles of my house. Friday…we had to go to the basement at work twice due to tornado warnings. It had to be close to 80 degrees. Got home and had more super cells streaming into the area all night. Had a neighbors house down the street burn after getting hit by lightening. We woke up around 6:00 am Saturday to the sound of tornado sirens. We had 3 tornadoes touch down that morning. Some places got as much as 5” of rain…we got over 2” at our house. Sunday…winter wonderland….as much as 5 ½” in Auburn area about 50 miles away…we had 3” at one point but it was melting fast. We had to of gotten at least 5” total. This is the only snow of the year and the best one in years. 20 to 30 mph North winds last night. Cold as the Arctic this morning. This is a BIG deal here! :D .

Snow in Atlanta, less than an inch here, but it was 12 degrees this morning---. :p

I lived up in Atlanta back in the 60's and believe me when I say that two inches of snow in the South will bring everything to a complete standstill. We just don't have the equipment to take care of this sort of weather.
Atlanta is a super hub for the whole South and this snow will stop the airplanes,trains and the millions of cars and trucks that go into and out of that giant city right now. BAM and everything just stops moving. Unbelievable and for Alabama to get snow like that is almost unheard of. Hope you guys enjoy it while it lasts . Pete

wow...we got some snow this morning here in eastern Virginia. Not a lot but enough to cause a bunch of accidents. Now I've live up north and driven in feet of snow before. But around here we get a dusting and there are accidents everywhere. These people just need to learn how to drive in the snow!
