I could use some help, I have ran out of Ideas
I have this Pro Boat controller and I cant get it to find neutral
I have done as per inst. and turned on the radio first then the ESC have gone to full then to rev and nothing I cant get it to center I have to hold a little back to get the motor to stop running I also tried this by reversing the switch. I have a Hitec Aggressor Pistol radio And Hitec reciever It does not have ATV or end points It only has reverse switch and Thro Center pot
I have turned it to both ends with out sucess however it does slow it down just never quite to center so I have to Hold in some power to get it to center, and stop the motor, and the pot is turned all the way. I have done this multipull times, in many different ways It just will only go so far, Is it just defective? or do you have any Ideas
Thanks

These esc are cheap(relatively), and don't have very good slow speed response. I think a bad one slips through every once in a while. It would be great if you could bring your boat to your local hobby shop and try a new one to see if thats it. I have a rc tank and it was doing something close to what you are experinceing. Turned out that where the antenna was mounted was really close(touching) one of the motors, this was causing interference. Are your Tx batteries fully charged? Am I right that your saying there's no trim adjustment on your Tx? Thats what I use to adjust neutral, but all my Tx's are stick. What kind of boat is it in?

My LHS do not carry any boat stuff
The Antenna is not anywhere even close to the motor
The TX batterys are charged
there is a trim control I have to turn it fully in one direction to even get it close to kinda stoping the motor (Neutral Trim) it should be in the center it is fully turned to the right if I could go a little more it would be centered and work but the control knob is as far as it will go
It works the same for stick as well as wheel radios
The boat is an equipage Rivera 80
I can get a new one for 30.00 from Deal Extreme
I think I will order a new one

Yes I did set the trim Knob to Center, Left, Right, Inbetween...
I tried everything
it seem like the speed control is not getting program info from the radio
it should work like so.... Set trim knob to center, turn on the TX, turn on the RX, set full forward, set full reverse tada.... Programed ESC, but mine is not seeing this info
and is still programed from before so I have to hold in some forward to get it to center... I was hoping there was some other way.... Could I maybe us my Jeti program card?.... Hmmmm Maybe, or some way to re set it back to factory settings

Don't know if this will make you feel any better, but.....
Electronic items some times just are bad from the factory. Working as a mechanic for the LACMTA, I had many experiences over 23 years of getting brand new electronics parts from the storeroom, installing them, only to find they did not work right. When our transmissions went all electronic, for example, the valve bodies were made in Germany and cost $10,000 each the last time I changed one. Changing one in a transmission was a big job. After the trans was all buttoned up and filled with another 23 quarts of synthetic tranny fluid, you want to go for a road test and the bus won't move. The valve body is full of solenoids and spool valves and wiring harnesses and stuff. But, if it don't work it don't work! So ya tear it all down again.
Point of all this jibberish is that even $10K components made in Germany had a certain defect rate.

Do not use your Jeti Brushless controller to try and program your proboat ESC. It likely won't work... :D
