I am new to electrics. I need a battery for a new airplane. I need to know what is the difference between a 3SIP at 4000mah and a 4SIP at 4000mah.
I want the battery to give me a longer flight time.

A 3S1P That means 3 cells or 3 cells in series and 1 in parallel
For a 11.1VDC battery pack at a capacity of 4000mah (Milli amperer hour).
The other is the same capacity But a 4S or 4 cells in series for 14.8vdc at 4000mah.
In general the higher voltage pack will give higher performance if the motor can handle the increased power.
The other pack is a lower voltage and not quite as much power to the motor.
In this case it really depends on the motor used and the type of flying you want to do.
Kind of like cars, do you want a 289 or a 427 cu in engine but both have on a 4000 oz fuel tank. Both are going to run the car but the 289 will get you there using less gas
. Best analogy I can think of.
