Hi all,
I just got my 3 meter Hosemonster from Arofoam and WOW this thing is huge compared to my Dynaflite H/D highstart!! I was just wondering how much I can streach this stuff without over streaching it? Is 3X the length about right? I have the 100' rubber with 500' line, convertable In two sections. 500' Seems like a little to much line for 100' rubber. Could I fly 2 meter plane's and "light" 3 meter's if I just don't streach it as much?

Marc, excellent choice! i have a 3m short system andworks awesome with my 3m 70zo sailplane. great for training landing and low level thermaling. I stretch mine about 3 x the 50 ft length with the moldie 3m. i also use it with my gentle lady but i only strech it 10 to 15 steps wwith a nice headwind and she kites herself up . on dead calm you need more stretch but the wings do flex. be warned though this sistem is too strong for 2m sailplanes and my gl has a cf center spar system so i know i am pushing her a bit. carefull is the key word, let it rip with the 3m!
good thermals

I've been using Hosemonsters for a few years now, they are much better than anything else I've tried.
My 3 meter is stronger than I am. I pull until I can't and let her rip, with the appropriate plane.

So do you guy's use the 250' line per 50' rubber? I think in a headwind it might be O.K. but just wondering about calm condition's.

Marc, im using actually 205, or at least thats what the mason line said it had in the twine. I still think i am using too much but then again, there is always wind blowing from somewhere here in florida...

I've never measured string for a high start or a winch. I use short high starts for landing practise and longer ones for fun. You are limited by the size of your field, but not much else.

Hey Enrico -
I'm contemplating a visit to see an old friend in Miami. Where's a good place to fly in the area? Is it worth bringing down a plane?

I don't know the area too much but i know that the Pompano Hill Flyers would be a nice option. They fly slope almost all year round. I dont know them personally (o maybe one or two :o ,sorry not good with names) but every sailplane enthusiast I've met here in florida are very nice and warm people.
Heres the link to their field: http://65.6.189.224/PHFlyers/contact.html
I don't know where in Miami you would be going so that also would help- a bit. In any case I fly in Daytona Beach which is about 4 1/2 hours from Miami,or with the Orlando Buzzards that is located in Oviedo, guess about 3 hours, maybe less. Heres the link to our club: http://www.orlandobuzzards.org/
You are more than welcom to coome fly with us!! :D
Hope this helps,

Rob,
If you're driving from AL you'll have to go through Gainesville. We fly mostly hand launch, but could be talked into dragging out the hi-start. PM me.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll probably slide down the left coast to take advantage of some old friends and fishing holes along the way. I'm not in a hurry and the superslab is kinda boring...

I have a 25' Hosemonster bungee for my 48" aerofoam delta wing. I have stretched it from 25 feet to 100 feet and got some amazing launches. I've thought about putting 150' of monofilament on it and tried high starting with it, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
