The BOT ARF is a great first big sailplane..I have over 100 flight's on mine along with a few ground loop's, cartwheels, wingtip landing's and accidental dork landing's  No fuse or wing failure's. kind of heavy though at 61oz. Still thermals great evan at that weight!!

well, i have had a few older used 2m, the size it great and after seeing a friends bot fuse fail, aswell as poor rudder authority im going to stick away from it for now, i am just without a simple glider right now after the old one got busted up last summer. there has to be more out there

Just re-read your post and see that you wanted ARF

How about the 3.1 meter Hi Aspect-RES from Art Hobby? Or the 2.5 meter Thermic-RES?

Hi again,

Define "big" and "arf."

2m is little by most people's standards, and few 2m+ airplanes have only 2 channels (most rudder-elevator ships have a third for spoilers or flaps).

A cost range would be helpful, too, before people suggest Topaz and Ava. (Which are both 3 channel, but qualify as BIG and ARF by most standards.)

Also- older and used models can get you in to full house relatively cheaply, and still fly well enough that your average pilot can't use all their capability effectively.

just for knowing, i dont want a 2ch because im learning haha. i fly alot of 3d power planes, the plan was to get a dragonfly strong used because my old spirit was totaled late last summer and i wanted a good thermal ship. but due to possible car repairs needed im trying to save money yet i need a glider. 2m is ok, and im not ruling out the vista as we plan to run the vista as a club class this year. but if i can find one over 3m RES would be ok, but alot of the stuff i found in that catagory was just as expensive as fullhouse glider, like topaz and ava. i suppose im not ruling the BOT out but im reallly hoping to find something else.. hope this helps everyone understand my situation. thanks.

ps, i always liked the arthobby stuff but lots of building

Suggest you look for a used model that meets your criteria.

Bfret...is right, Art Hobby has some good planes at pretty good prices. There really isn't much to the building of them, and performance with regards to there prices is great. Most hardcore sailplanes guys usually have one or two still in their garage.

You dont' say if you want electric or pure glider.

If you don't mind foam, the Parkzone Radian is RTF and flies great!
