Hello, i'm a newbie in helies and have a vortex V2 that fell apart on me. i was wondering what would be better for me, a E-Sky Co-Commanche or a E-Sky Lama V4? i have a good amount of sim time and am most worried about stablity, trimming, and durability.
if anyone has any surgestions or advise, i would love it. thanks :)

Lama V4 because there's more upgrade parts available and weighs less. I usually go with unbreakable skids, aluminum center hub and swashplate, Vigalante tailboom and Xtreme or Airy Harden blades. It makes for an easy to maintain, pretty simple heli and it flies nice for a coax.

is their much difference in durability?

If you are referring to the Comanche, the skids will break and be difficult to fix or replace. The body will break, but that doesn't affect anything. Aside from that, E_Sky coaxes are all basically the same.

I pretty much second that emotion. The flight characteristics are indistinguishable. V4 body is barely stiffer than a ziplock, so it's indestructible. The stiff body parts on other Esky coaxes WILL break. Changes CG but otherwise they're not functional.
Get a V4/GHz even though it costs "more". Actually, the MHz version costs LESS because it's obsolete and compromised. Get 3 dozen spare blades and 4 spare skid sets, or the aftermarket ones. They are all made of brittle material.
On the other hand, I've flown the V4 into ceilings, brick walls, wood and metal furniture and only broken blades. I'd call that durable.
Mine came dead-center trimmed out of the box. I have to chase yaw some, but all coaxes do that. It will fly hands-free briefly. But geez, you don't want a robocopter that flies itself.

they are basically the exact same heli with different landing pieces and different bodies. I say get the comanche just cuz it looks cooler in the air and the rolling wheels on the landing gear allow you to taxi around. I absolutely love mine, but yea hard landings will break the landing gear. But at 2-2.50 a pop for new sets which are easily had from ebay, miraclemart or hobby lobby who cares. Once you master it you wont break that many.
I have an extended shaft in mine, shortened fly bar, and extreme blades (stock blades are weak as hell but I would fly a few packs of those first while learning) and its a blast to fly. Next mod will be the longer servo horns to get some more aggressive action out of her.
I've crashed mine numerous times, only thing to break was blades (until I got the xtreme blades) and the landing gear. Body never broke. Maybe a small crack here or there but a little CA fix and back in the air.

well I have CA'd some back together, but any moderate hit to the ground they snap again. The only fix is to get new ones like Balr stated and just get your skills up so you don't break em.

are their any unbreakable upgraded ones?

nothing is unbreakable in the world of RC, but no, there are none other available other than the OEM replacements. Unless your a really horrible pilot you shouldnt break that many, I only broke 3 or 4 sets learning and a couple more over the course of a year. If your really worried get one of those landing gear setups that have the ping pong balls on the end to help you practice landing

You do realize the MCX isn't like any other heli? It's very slow and so light, it's difficult to break anything. It's fun for a week or two, then gets pretty boring and it really doesn't teach you anything about flying an rc heli.
They seem to develop problems with electric contacts after a few weeks. I don't know about you, but I'd rather replace broken skids.

yea and you can always get better upgraded blades for the lama or comanche (they are basically the same) but just buy it and practice with it, but a couple extra skids and a couple packs of the regular replacement blades until you get some type of skill then start upgrading.
