Let me give you a little background on me first. I had Honey Bee Mk2 that I was getting pretty good at. Well I left it down in the bacement and it was flooded so now I am looking at another heli.

All I did before was fly in my living room, up and down the halls....that kind of thing. I took it outside I think twice when it was dead calm. I was getting pretty good with it before it died.

Now I am looking at getting a new heli, I would like something that I can mount realistic looking bodies on (very important), and is about the same size as the Honey bee was....I also don't want to spend a fortune.

I don't want to do any 3D type stuff, no high speed stuff, just hover and land, move from place to place.

The honey bee was bought on a whim, and I had great luck with it, this time I want to do a bit more reasearch on getting one. I learned to fly on my own...so it was also pretty hard to kill, and parts where cheap.

Any suggestions, I have to do an online deal as there are no hobby shops near me. So if you can point me to web sites as well that would be great.

Thanks

Surely you can fix the Honey Bee?

What size of helicopter do you want? The bigger you get, it seems like the more scale stuff is available.

yea...I could fix it but new servos, rec, motors....it all adds up pretty quick to about what I could get a new Honey Bee for.

So I figure why not look to something a little better then it was.

The size I would say not to much bigger perhaps a 450 size or so. Just would like it to stay small enough to fly indoors in a living room.

You don't want to fly a 450 in your house... not a proper CP 450 anyway... people do it, sure, but then they get flamed in the safety section on Helifreak :)

Thanks for the point to that site....I will be doing some checking on some more ideas over there.

Is the heli you drowned an HBFP?

look into the guruZ helis, they are Fixed Pitch like your HBFP is but they are build-up kits with belt drive tails that you put hotter BL motors, wood blades, HH gyro, etc etc and can be fitted with with 300 size scale bodies and can carry the weight no problems.

Yes it was.

Thanks for all the input, I decided to just go with another HBFP. I had a bunch of extra parts for it. When I started flying if I broke something I just ordered at least two as I figured that I would likely replace the same part again.

It is a gool little heli, with replacement parts easy to get. This summer I may move up to a larger scale heli.

Thanks again for all the help....Now I am going to hit the HBFP threads to read up on tips. But the last one flew pretty well, so I don't know what to do to make it better.
