Hey,
I'm looking for a way to get an airspeed indicator that can communicate with our airborne Single Board Computer to give us an airspeed reading. I've got an eagletree systems airspeed indicator, but it's intended for their hardware and it's not playing friendly with our electronics tech and his beloved oscilloscope. Does anyone know a relatively easy way or a hack to get some off-the-shelf hardware to provide an indication of airspeed?

Any links or reading you've got would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
-Will

P.S. No, I'm not really an electronics person. I'm a mechanical engineer with some knowledge of electronics, basically looking to help out our electronics guy, who is behind in his work.

Check this one.

It looks like its a serial setup and not an analog out. And if it is, good luck figuring out their comm scheme! Or even SPI. Just a thought?

Post some close up pics of the board with out the shrink wrap and I can prolly tell you what they are doing.

pretty sure this is the a2d they are using and therefore they are reading the circuit via I2C. Software time!

Cross check me but it does make sense.

I found a small 6 gram airspeed sensor with RS232 output sold by the RUAV company in Moscow. Unfortunately they said the price was $450 and they had a minium order of $2000.
