I have purchased an old realflight controller to use with my FMS and Clearview sims. The issue I have is that it has a serial (gameport) connector. Is there a connector that would make it a USB to use on a vista machine.

Is it a gameport or a serial port as there not the same thing? A gameport has 15 pins; a serial port has either 9 or 25 pins. Most have 9 and only 9 pins max are used even on a 25 pin serial port.

There are USB to serial converters if it is a serial port. Whether or not one will allow it to be seen as a usable controller for FMS or Clearview, I don’t know.

It is a Gameport (15 pin). I am looking for an adaptor. If I find one great if not oh well I am not out much just a few $$.

There are plenty of them on eBay. Just search for “game port to USB”.

I word of caution:
Serial to USB converter may not work on many systems. When you compare the price of the converter to e-sky usb controller and add a chance to have something that does not work, I think is better to get e-sky usb controller for $20.

Now I do own reflex and it has a USB dongle. Will it work with clearview using my DX7, or is there another cable to purchase to use the flight sim.
