JPG005A F/A-18 Tiger Scheme RTF Jet
JPG005B F/A-18 Tiger Scheme ARF Jet

23-7/8" wingspan, 34-3/4" long, 170 sq. in. wing area, 22 oz. flying weight. Jet is constructed from tough EPO foam and totally pre-decorated. The fan with outrunner brushless motor is installed and pre-wired to the brushless 30 amp speed control. Assembly takes only about an hour, photo illustrated instructions included. The servos are installed for you; all you need to do is connect the pre-bent pushrods to the servo arms and the control horns. The jet includes 5 servos: 2 for ailerons, 2 for elevators and 1 for nose wheel steering. The main landing gear snaps into place and the nose wheel is held with a setscrew. Jet can be flown either with or without landing gear; conversion takes only seconds. Whether you take off from the ground or hand launch the F-18, the flight character of the jet is exceptional. The smooth running outrunner motor provides powerful thrust for exciting flying. This jet is quick and has excellent flying manners, it's smooth and predictable with a broad speed range. Jet includes a 3-cell 1300 mAh lipo battery and a balance lipo charger. Flight times exceed 5 minutes.

22oz all-up weight? Is that with or without the optional gear? Alternatively, is that with or without the 5th servo on board? Seems to have the potential of being the best J-Power floater of the bunch with 170 sq inches wing area!!! The downside? I like high-vis (read orientation) paint schemes, but that thing is hideous.....

That's the all up weight with gear. It flies great and looks a lot better in person and in the air than the photos show. No orientation problems with these guys!

Thanks,

Any one want to give a bit more detail here? Things like: fan size, motor size, battery specs? The website is rather vague and considering it can be purchased airframe only, they expect you to be able to mod it. How hard is it to access the fans? Is the airframe alone even worth a look? Does Hobby-Lobby plan on selling replacement parts/hop-ups? And finally if any one has gotten one (airframe only), or will, what set up are you going to use?

P.S. how differant is it from the other model f-18

Caution with the CG.

The GC is not in the manual where it says,
For good CG, put the battery in the compartment made for it under the cockpit and ready.

320 watts with stock battery. , 27A.

If the CG stated in the manual is incorrect can you please give a measurement for the CG you are using.

Put the stock battery below the coockpit. in the only place made for that.

Them the CG is 3/4 inch in front.

This weekend I flew the F18 hobby lobby, the new model painted tiger Canada.

That barbaric.
Spend a tremendous shock, and just took off the plane began to hover.
Hover if that is one meter tall.
By the way, has very good power so I continued to climb but pulled to the right. then Stoler, rose is enrizo and a lot of rare out-of-control maneuvers that story for you cayoal extreme end of the runway.

the airplane is EPO, or Z Elapor foam. no nothing happened.

Reason.

Like all Chinese books are a real crap.
suggest there is a point where the CG and brings up a photograph.
but has a hole in it where the battery just below the cockpit.

and install and the plane was almost down to the tip.
so we walked back to the battery until it gave me the balance. I had to open for that step in the foam, because there was no space. for this was very strange. but seeing the F18 planes, I found that if the CG was well marked in the manual.

at the end and after that flight, the battery below the cabin space and its cg is as an inch forward.
Now if the flight was very good and easy.

Before that also gave me problems the position of the elevators, as the law stood a little to the left and right wing need to slightly down and left in neutral.
before making this adjustment, the aircraft departed with a very strong trend to the extent that the right to lose control again and gave it another shot. but does not happen again.
EPS if it had been dead this age plane.
Only a dust and ready to fly.

I liked the power that this aircraft brings 320 watts for a 64 mm EDF.
and above all the endurance you have.
(Su27 with the 64mm fan 2. 240watts consume.)

Spanish.

Has anyone figured out what size the fan is and where to get a replacement? One of the blades broke on mine from a pebble getting into the air duct on the first take off attempt. Overall quality was less than desirable. Both wings are warped one vert stab is warped and the radio was broke out of the box. Weird thing is there was no damage at all to the box. This tells me it was packaged this way. Didn't notice the radio on the initial inspection, when I went to install batteries that when I noticed the screws missing and the loop for the neckstrap was broke. Of course I had already straightened out the wings etc. and glued it together or I would have send it back. Here's photos of it

What a bummer, waiting to send it in for replacement and I get an email that they are out of stock and discontinued. What a bummer. Would've just kept my radio and gotten the pnp version but I don't trust the radio in its condition, not after everything that happened.
