Phoenix and DX6i Help

Hi,
I'm just getting started in rc heli's and airplanes. I have a DX6i and the Phoenix simulator. None of the switches on my DX6i do anything in Phoenix. They aren't even recognized. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Set aside one of the stored model memories in the DX6i for use with Phoenix. Then, turn your transmitter off. Keep it off and plug in the plug from the Phoenix dongle and start Phoenix. Your transmitter should be recognized. Follow onscreen instructions for calibration and you're all set.
