I'm a glider pilot (no power at all in my collection). Anybody have an opinion on the best sim for gliders? I have FSOne, and it has most of the features one would want (winch start, hi-start, hand launch, DS, etc). But it:

doesn't run well on my x64 XP machine (sound issues+appears to need admin rights to run correctly)
has a crappy selection of gliders (2+variants, no HLGs, no DLG)
doesn't appear to be actively developed anymore

So is there a better alternative? Funny thing - I keep finding myself going back to CRRCSIM, but would like "fancier" features.

Well, Phoenix has only four gliders; an aerobatic slope soarer, slope soarer, super Dimona, and a thermal Soarer). I don't fly gliders in real life, so I can't speak to it's accuracy though.

It does support thermals and has at least two sites (maybe three?) that are definitely targeted towards gliders although they can be used on any of the sceneries. Gliders are always start in the air with some velocity. Normally they start around a hand launch type of level, but you can repeatedly press 'T' to have them start at higher levels. There are no winch launches or DLG.

I know at least one of the planes does have flaps as well, but since I've never flown one in real life I can't compare.

I've never messed with gliders on the other sims, so I can't compare with that either.

Hope this helps some.
