I like 1/5th scale World War One and general aviation airplanes. Reasons I like this size, are; you can use the medium sized glow engines, .90 to 1.25 sized 4 strokes, .60 to .90 sized 2 strokes, the small gas engines or electric set-ups that don't require a 2nd on the home mortgage. Also, you can use standard sized servos. This size is big enough that the models still have "Presence"; but, are small enough to allow fairly easy transport.
A problem with 1/5th scale is the lack of detail parts. Would you be interested in machine guns, wheels, engines cylinders and other detail parts for this size, if they were offered?

Hi,
try this website:

K&W are producing scale models in 1/5 and they also offer accessories.

Other then you, Olaf, there is literally no interest in this topic here! I have found that K&W accessories and planes are offered by a U.S. Importer called 3 Sea Bees and have made contact with them asking for more information.
Thanks for this Tip!

Not quite true. I'm interested in 1/5th for all the same reasons you stated. I'm actually working on a Fiat CR42 at 1/5 now. The K&W stuff looks excellent but pricey....

Derek, I finally found out prices for K&W detail parts and was flabbergassed at the prices. Because there had been so little traffic here on this thread at RCGroups, I thought I'd just let this topic go "by the boards". Good to know there is maybe three people interested in 1/5th scale.
