I have had clearview for a while now. I never use it because the heli flight is so unrealistic that it doesnt really help once I got past the hovering stage. It was so frustarting that I basically abandoned using it.

I need sim time to improve. My new Outrage 550 flies so nice but Im not getting past basic sport flying. A simple axial roll is almost impossible on my sim.

I have several helis and nothing flies anything like the real thing. My E-620 Raptors are so much faster and agile than the Raptor selection .

Im wondering if something in the setup is off. All I ever adjust is the Easy Model Setup. With all weather featuires set to 0, the main problem I find is that most of the helis fly like there is a 25mph variable wind. The inertiia from any control input is exagerated a lot.

Autorotations are impossible from over 20 feet. No matter what control inputs are given, the blades always stop.

Any Ideas on improving this sim? Does this sound like normal Clearview behavior?

Thanks for any help

That does not sound right..I'm thinking maybe something wrong with you controller in the sim....go here and take a look at what you can do in CV..there are alot of other videos on you tube as well. I do loops, rolls, pirouettes, autos, inverted flights ect...no problem in CV

I can do loops, fly inverted etc, an axial roll is almost impossible to do. There is something wrong.

I cannot get to the advanced model setup. It isnt under settings where the Basic Model Setup and 12 other options are listed in the drop down box. It isnt under any of the menu tabs. Strange

Is this the registered Version...or perhaps you put it on a new computer and it is not the registered version? It may possibly be that something is wrong with the model..did you try a different one? I still think if the helis are not flying proper for you that it may a controller issue what are you using for controller?....perhaps you may need to re-calibrate your controller in windows then re-set it up in CV...it is also posiible that you have modified the params in a place you should not have. If you do not see the advanced menu.
1. navigate to the Cleaview folder and locate the startupParams file
2. open it with notepad
3. make sure that there is a line that says
showAdvancedSetup 1.0

If this is set to 0.0 that is why you do not see the advanced...by default that is set to 1.0 unless you have changed it....so just change it to 1.0 save the file and start CV...now you should see it.

Ken is right, it seems that the parameter showAdvancedSetup is set to 0 in startupParams.txt It must be 1 (so the advanced setup is shown). From your previous post seems that your ClearView installation is corrupted. Delete SVK Systems folder, then uninstall ClearView, then download and install the program again.

While I don't doubt that you are having problems with Clearview ...

I must report that the Trex 450 SA model is so ridiculously accurate that it is scary. The hovering and input feel are a nearly perfect match for my SA with DX6i.

I have no association with SVK or Stefan ... I am merely a happy customer.

Stefan - why don't you license a cheap USB controller and retail package clearview with it? I think you are undercharging by a mile. You could brand some controller and box it up with a DVD, sell it for $79.99 or so ...

Thanks for the help here on the forum and thanks for the prompt response to my email, Mr. Clearview.

Im in business now. The Show Advanced Setup in startupParams was set to 0.0.

Now, if I could only import a couple of 550-620 powerful electrics into CV.

Are all of the Gov settings in simple model setup maxed out at default? I can lower the head speed but not raise it.

Thanks again

I couldnt leave well enought alone.

i noted that there were much newer versions available si I deleted Clearview and cleaned up the proper files and downloaded ver 4.98H

Now the helis load and fly but the graphics are incomplete and jump around in sections all over the screen.

My efforts to determine the graphics card on this Sony Vaio notebook show a Calistoga Graphics controller and the driver??an Intel 945GM chipset...which means nothng to me..clicked on a driver update and it said that there was not a newer version.

Any Ideas? I dont see how I can even go back to the older version

Thanks

This chipset is one of the worst. Try getting latest drivers, or you may want to try running the program on a computer with proper video card.

PS: I find very disturbing for you to bad mouth my program with no valid reasons whatsoever. You got help and proper support. I think you should remove your misleading thread title. It is not ClearView physics problem at all.

Dont be disturbed, I have been having problems since the beginning and was discouraged. I had abandoned the sim it untill this week. This is a 2 year old Sony Vaio notebook which is in my hobby room. Im never in the office room with the desktop with the more state of the art equipment. I assumed that this software would run on P-4 processor and dont know a lot about video cards.

Ill happily remove the title and you could have asked me in your email reply or by PM immediately and I would have happily have done it.

Im not trying to be insulting. The helis flew as if the wind was was randomly blowing and all weather features were off. Since Ive never even looked at the startupParam file, or any of the other files and have never seen the advanced setup menu, I knew of nothing othe to call it than the physics of the software.

This is what I attributed the problems too:

Quote:Im wondering if something in the setup is off. All I ever adjust is the Easy Model Setup. With all weather featuires set to 0, the main problem I find is that most of the helis fly like there is a 25mph variable wind. The inertiia from any control input is exagerated a lot.End Qoute

I didnt know a graphics card could alter this kind of behaviour...but possibly my Advanced settings could. Unfortunately, I didnt know I had any advanced settings because they were not in the menu.

Im easy to get along with and you will note that I was nothing but courteous in my replies
