On the pic the fet has been removed. Am I safe to assume replacing the original fet with a IRML2502 fet will allow 2amps to motor??
Thanks in advance
A little more searching reveals this fet (2502) is only rated at 1amp???

Depending on the orginal FET size/shape (SOT23?) you could also try replacing with something like the PVM31XN which is a really nice MOSFET with a lovely low on resistance.
Nothing unusual about seeing figures like 2A quoted for a 1A fet, it's a bad habit a lot of mfg's have of quoting pulse/peak/max-limit values rather than continuous usage values :(

Thanks for the reply PL
The 1 amp fet on the existing brick, will probably handle the 2 amps (short bursts)
I've went ahead and hooked up a GWS modified for single cell 2 amp esc off the 5th channel and is working fine. I'd still like to swap out the fet and free up that channel for lights or something.
I'll look around for the Mosfet you mention on my next electronic order. Thanks

Part of it also has to do with the heat sink on the board. Glue a small aluminum heat sink to the chip and you should be able to pull more current before it pops.
Can you stack Mosfets to double the current? But then again, think about the current capacity of the battery... Can it do 2 amps?

I like the stack a fet idea.
As far as lipo no problem, I'll be running a larger pack.
