I just got a brand new dx6i in the mail today and took out my corsair to fly it. Everything seemed fine with the corsair and I checked for the bad pot symptoms per horizons website. Got home and decided to bind the CX2 to the DX6i. All was going well except the trottle, it wouldnt arm. finally after some fiddling it armed and about took my eye out. apparently i have a bad pot but it doesnt show the listed symptoms. Instead its like the bottom 20% is jumpy as hell depending on how you hold the Tx so it randomly spooled up the motors.

I dont understand why these just weren't recalled instead of endangering and putting the burden on the customer. I have to hope horizon even honors it because I had someone on here buy it for me at a hobby shop 5 hours away so I have no receipt.

When binding the CX2 did you put the throttle trim all the way down. I had to do that with mine on a DX7. If the travel of the pots on the screen is smooth your DX6i is fine.
I have been following your posts these past few weeks. You seem to have an awful lot of problems...

Contact Horizon about it. I would think that it being defective is more important than how you acquired it. Besides, if you know the hobby shop from which it was purchased you may want to refer Horizon to that hobby shop for proof that the TX was purchased through them. However I don't see that being an issue. Just contact them and see where it goes from there.

sorry if i am having too many problems for you, its just the way it goes. not sure what you are insinuating....

the throttle is smooth, but its definitely not right. at 100% travel, the mark jumps from 0 to the first mark. at 125% travel, it goes from 0 to the 2nd to last mark.

with the thottle all the way down it will stay put unless you move the Tx or touch the stick, then it jumps between 0 and the first mark. the middle ranges are smooth and no jumping.

im posting from my cell phone so i apologize for any errors.

Buddy had a DX6i. Aileron channel failed. Crashed his plane 2x before he started trying to figure out what was wrong. He brought it over and after a bunch of swapping and isolating came to the conclusion the aileron channel (only one) was not sending.

LHS verified the problem, sent it in. No TX for a month. He got it back with a note nothing could be found (he didn't tell me that).

Maidened a new PZ Corsair with it. Flew fine. The next day the aileron channel failed again.

He almost maidened a large balsa Quattro with it.

Soured me on the DX6i a bit. I wonder if they are reaping the consequences of success, lowered quality due to demand? Seems there is a veritable stampede of newbies buying DX6i's.

Here is a video of what is going on. Again, sorry for the quality, it's from a cell phone.

I have travel set to 125% and the trim centered. The throttle is pushed all the way down, but depending on what mood the Tx is in, the caret either goes to the left or right of the last tick mark. if you look at 0:32 in the video, you will see it jump with no stick input from me.

It's not as horizon describes it, and it is not a big deal for planes, but I'd rather not lose an eye or get an open wound from a heli that I think is powered down but is not.

I'll call Horizon monday.

What you've described does sound like the pot problem:
