Hey guys, where and what are you guys using for giant scale props? I am looking for a 26x8 for my project I am working on, but have not had much luck finding one.

Thanks,
Duane

Hi Duane: Have you looked into Mejzlik CF props? Desert Aircraft has a 26 X 8 propeller.

Cheers: Joe :)

Xoar makes wooden "e" Props up to 24 X 10

APC has a couple that are close:

Hi Duane: I Am using a Mejzlik 22 X 10 Standard Prop (Non Electric) on my 30% Yak-54 & have had very good results with it. Maybe the folks @ Desert Aircraft could recommend a Standard Prop Size that would work for you.

I fly with the Vess props on my DA100 so I might just give that a try.

I fly with standard I.C. props on many of my electrics. They seem to work fine. Just have to match the pitch, size and brand with the rest of your power system, and keep a close watch on the amp draw and any overheating. Different types of planes and different styles of flying, of course, will call for different performing props.

The prop doesn't know whether it's being turned through the air by electric or I.C. power. It just pulls according to the rpm that it turns.

I've had very good luck with Vess, Xoar and all Mejliks (E and Standard). The Vess seem to pull harder with less amps.
Mejliks give me more RPM
and Xoar just seem to run smooth all around

Prop test with apc but do your plane some justice with a nice prop come showtime.

Just my $.02

I'm running a Xoar 26x14e on my 3DHS Extra 300SHP. Very smooth running.

Can't beat a Vess. Robert is a great guy and i am sure he would love to point you to the right prop for your project. I think a 26x8 would be close to a 26B, but don't take my word for it...shoot Robert an email and see what he thinks!

Xoar will make any size prop, but I'm sure with a minimum run if it's an oddball size. 3Dhobbyshop.com sells two and three blade Xoar gas and electric. Two blade up to 24x12E. They sell many APC props as well.
