I would like to share with you guys my recent project that i've been working on it about one month .

here some images of it

first of all it's multipurpose RC for any thing you want to remotely control it
like all heli , all fixed wing , field robotics , ...etc
built with 1.2km (L of S) proved range :) the main micro controllers are pic18f4550 at transmitter and pic18f2550 at receiver

Receiver unit Features:-
• high speed and stable servo driver (real time ).
• 5 payload control (camera , LEDs, robotics ARM ,…etc).
• 3 feed back ADC .
• signal cut off subroutine (auto recovery , save landing , ….etc) .
• small size .
• high sensitivity.
• Flexible and Reliable.
• Eliminate Signals interference.
• Low power consumption.

you can fined more information here in my plog (http://ec23.blogspot.com/2009/02/remote-control-system.html)

please feed back me about what do you think about it

Cool! Do you read USB output from the joystick or do you read its potentiometers directly?

Ari.

No it's impossible with pic18f4550 to read joystick through usb streaming because this MCU can not work as usb host :) it possible with pic32 .
so i just went direct to potentiometers and buttons.

thank you guys for your comment .

Hi ENG.Alamin,

which module for transmitter and receiver are you using, what is the power, and what kind of signal is sent (PPM, PCM or other).

Thx

Géo ;).

well about TX module name is GT1 434.xxx
RX // /// GR1 434.xxx

TX power is 25mW
RX sensitivity = -117dbm
FM narrow band
you may notice that 25mW is low power , well yah it's but if your antenna is good
you'll get wide coverage area about 1.5 Km line of sight maybe ,
so the antenna is crucial as the module performance itself sir.

:)
kind of signal I sent is binary signal with baud 4.8kp/s using FSK modulation :) .

Nice work.

I've actually got my old PC joystick stripped down for this very purpose. I intend on interfacing it into the RF deck of my RC Tx through the buddy port. I never can find the time though :(

that's extremely interesting project... , i hope you find the time to complete it . :)
