Has anyone ever built an aluminum hulled springer? What would be the disadvantages of this?

Aluminum? Hmmm, I don't think so, too hard to join parts. :p
But why not do one out of flat egg noodles---? :)
Waterproofing might be a bit of a problem, but doable---. :D

Modeler bring all there talents and experience into their model builds. I could easily see a modeler who works with aluminum in a trade to build a very usable welded aluminum hulled springer. Might be pretty cool.
Thanks
Steve
